Old Jewelry Habits Die Hard

Heavy jewelry has its adherents. "If it's not chunky, it's not worth wearing," goes the cry.

But recently, I;ve become aware of a surprising number of such enthusiasts who have chosen to change their jewelry - particularly necklaces and bracelets. They've either gone for different materials, or smaller pieces.

Puzzled, I asked why. It seems that each had decided to stop being a masochist! They admitted that the image that went with the heavy pieces just wasn't worth the constant soreness they experienced as the hard weight banged against their bones.

And bang they did. One lady told me her wrist was constantly sore, and she found that she was avoiding using the full power of her grip because it aggravated the soreness in her wrist. Another said she was sick of being short of breath - she had been breathing more shallowly to avoid pressure on her sternum.

Is it time for you to rethink your jewelry habits?
